This year, we are honoured to share the new name of the previously titled Heroes in Health Award: the Tony H. Jocko Memorial Heroes in Health Award, in memoriam of the late Tony H. Jocko. Tony was a valued team member of the Health Secretariat for 15 years serving as the Federal Health Policy Analyst. He was an exceptional advocate and made many contributions to various health organizations and many First Nations. He was instrumental in providing access to special cases in dental and vision care and was active in procuring additional PPE supplies and supporting our communities when the Covid-19 pandemic escalated. Tony was admired and held in the highest regard by those who knew him. His display in kindness, passion and dedication are values that he leaves with us. We are seeking individuals who exemplify their passion in health services and dedication to ensuring that the health and safety of Anishinabek communities across the Anishinabek Nation remain at the forefront.
